BizTalk Error Reason: The source was not found, but some or all event logs could not be searched. To create the source, you need permission to read all event logs to make sure that the new source name is unique. Inaccessible logs: Security.

Problem:
I have received following error in my BizTalk Server Administration Console-
Reason: The source was not found, but some or all event logs could not be searched.  To create the source, you need permission to read all event logs to make sure that the new source name is unique.  Inaccessible logs: Security.

Cause:
This issue occurs due to insufficient permission of BizTalk user account that I used to logging my custom events. When I try to call my event log method to create a custom event log then custom event log entry is created under the following server registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog

So you must have full permission for your user account to write here. but, my user account does not have permission to write event log. So the user that runs the application must have full rights to create a new custom log.

Solution:
To resolve this issue you need to grant full permission to create custom event log. Please see the below following steps by step process to grant user permissions-

1. Press Windows Key+R and type in run 'regedit' then click OK button and Register Editor window appears. Now expand up-to following registry sub-key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog

2. Now Right click EventLog and click Permissions then Permissions for EventLog dialog box popups. Click on Add.. button and search your user then click OK, as shown in below image-

3. Grant Full Control to this user then click OK as shown the following picture-

4. Now go to Security section of under the same EventLog registry sub-key, as the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Security

And right click on Security then click Permissions and add same user then grant Full Control permission similar way. See the following image reference-

All right now go ahead and check again, hopefully issue has been resolved.
